Just a Whisker Away…

May 29th – Today George, Sabrina, Barry and Neil played in the Heathfield Open Bowls Tournament. Playing 5 games of 6 ends, WPBC started well with an 11 – 3 win against Streatham Park, followed by a 10 – 4 win against Winnington. The 3rd game saw a narrow 6 – 8 defeat to Heathfield, this was followed by an 11 – 6 win against Bolingbroke. The final game saw Wimbledon Park, lying second in their group, up against another Heathfield four who were top of the group. In a winner takes all game all was level after 5 ends at 3 – 3, but it was Heathfield who took the game with a final bowl single. Congratulations to the Heathfield four who went on to win the tournament!
