At 11.30am on Friday, Anne and Neil welcomed Belmont to the green for the District Over-55 Mixed Pairs. Getting off to a good start, despite their opponents drawing some really great bowls, it was Anne and Neil who advanced to the 1/4 - final with a 20 - 6 win.

On Wednesday evening, Neil was away at Temple for the first round of the Surrey Singles. After close early exchanges Neil found himself 10 - 15 down after 14 ends, before settling in to win the next 8 ends and with it the game 21 - 15.

On a sultry Sunday afternoon 14, yes 14, ladies took to the green to battle it out for the Ladies Round Robin.
Bowlers were placed into random groups of 3 or 4, with 3 bowls each, to play 3 matches of 6 ends, with scores only being recorded on individual scorecards. As a result of which, nobody had any idea where they were placed, after 18 ends.

Saturday's taster session saw 5 visitors and 14 club members on the green. At the end of the session we welcomed John and Peter to the club, the 14th and 15th new members to join in 2026. We look forward to getting to know you both over the coming weeks.

On Friday evening Caroline was up at South London for the District Ladies' Singles. In a close contest, with both players playing well, her opponent kept saving her best until last, often converting the head with her last bowl and it was South London who advanced to the ¼ - finals.

On Thursday evening, over at Purley Bury, Sue F and Neil played their postponed Surrey Mixed Pairs match. With both of their opponents drawing well on a quick green WPBC were soon up against it and trailed 1 - 10 after 7 ends. A brief respite in the second half saw them pickup a few shots but hands were shaken after 14 ends with the score at 7 - 23.

On Wednesday afternoon, Neil hosted Belmont in the Wimbledon and District Over-60 Singles. Starting strongly, but with quite a few very close heads, Neil led 10 - 0 after 7 ends, going on to book a place in the ¼ final with a 21 - 8 win.
