WPBC Ladies’ One Day Competition
30.6.24 – Whilst the number of entrants for the Ladies Round Robin went up and down in the previous two weeks, a completely different format for this competition was finally arrived at. However, with a late withdrawal, due to injury, on Sunday morning, the Comps Secretary had to resort to pen and paper, due to a printer malfunction, to arrive at an alternative format.
As a result the eight participants were drawn into two groups; Group One consisting of Christine P, Claire T, Sallie and Claire W, and Group Two consisting of Sue F, Caroline, Sue R and Gail, each bowler playing the three others, in their Group, over 4 ends, with 3 bowls each.
Caroline advanced to the Final, from Group 2, having won all of her three matches, and amassing 9 points as a result. In Group 1 Claire T, Claire W and Sallie all won two of their three matches, all amassing 7 points. After Shot Difference came into play Claire T narrowly advanced to the Final. After 3 ends of the final, the scores were tied at 2 – 2 with Claire T scoring 2 shots on the last end to just edge Caroline into second place.
A huge thank you to Richard F for organising (and reorganising) the event and to Mark, Pete and William for their support at the green.

Got something to say?
