League Match Away at South London

27.7.24 – This afternoon we were at South London for our latest Weekend League match.  First to finish were Jackie, Jay, Anne and Richard F, who took the lead after three ends and despite dropping a 5 to go 9 – 10 down after 10 ends, spent most of the remaining ends in front, to win 20 – 16.  Dez, Gail, Caroline and Peter went into an early 5 – 2 lead after 3 ends, but South London turned it around, winning twelve of the next 15 ends, to inflict an 8 – 26 loss.  Rosalind, Bob, Mark and Richard S kept pace with their opponents, for the first half of the match, finding themselves 7 – 8 down after 9 ends.  However, South London had the better of the second half ending up with an 11 – 21 loss. Match Result 2 – 8 (39 shots to 63).

Despite missing half of our normal back end bowlers, our less experienced bowlers put in a good performance on a quick, big swinging green, the likes of which the majority of them would not have bowled on before.
