Friendly Triples Match at Home to Croygas

28.7.24 – This afternoon we had the return leg of our friendly triples matches against Croygas and a very enjoyable afternoon was had by all. Wimbledon Park had four debutants, Christine P, Elaine, Frank and Sue R playing and they acquitted themselves very well with some great bowling. Due to the heat it was agreed to play 16 ends, Christine, Elaine and Mark got off to a good start and in a tight match led 7 – 6 at halfway. Winning 5 of the next 8 ends WPBC took the win 15 – 11. Sue, Frank and Caroline struggled early on and were 1 – 9 down at halfway, but, after a great fight back picking up a 3 on end 11, they fought gallantly only to finish at 10 – 13. Overall result WPBC 25 – Croygas 24. A big thank you to Mark for taking on the captain’s role, to Caroline for skipping so well and to all of our debutants. We look forward to you all playing for the club again very soon.
