Terrific Top-10 Tussle!!

9.8.25 – This morning we were away at Heathfield for the 1/4 – final of the District Top 10. First off the green was Neil in the Singles who started strongly to lead 10 – 1. His opponent battled back well and levelled the game at 16 – 16, before Neil managed to secure the win 21 – 18. Second off were Sue F/Pete in the Pairs; after a tough battle against two of Heathfield’s finest, a fantastic effort saw WPBC close out the game with a narrow defeat 11 – 16. The Triples finished next with Jackie/Richard S/Martin leading 12 – 3 after 9 ends, before a real tussle with their opponents in the second half saw them take the victory 15 – 11. The Fours of Anne/Claire T/Vera/Barry had another strong start leading 15 – 8 after 13 ends, before Heathfield finished well to give us the win 19 – 16. Match result a win by 66 shots to 61. Congratulations to all the players with a special thanks to Elaine and Rosalind for their support up at Heathfield. We will now face Mitcham in the Semi-Final.
