A Creditable Loss and a Valuable Experience in the District Mixed Triples
1.7.24 – This evening a newly formed Triple of Dez, Sue F and Richard F took to the green, in the WDBA Bill Simpson Competition, against a strong Southey team, which included a 2022 National Champion.
Early exchanges were tight and after scoring a four, on the 8th end, Wimbledon Park hit the front. Unfortunately a four was dropped on the next end and Southey slowly started to pull away, with their lead bowling on another level for the last 6 ends. Hands were shaken after 17 ends with Southey the victors 23 – 10.
A very useful exercise for two of our less experienced bowlers, which can only stand them in good stead for the future. It’s good to see some of our newer bowlers entering into outside competitions, which can only be beneficial for both individual bowlers and also the club as a whole.
