Club Handicap Pairs Competition
16.6.24 – On one of the warmest and brightest days of the year, so far, 11 bowlers reported to the clubhouse for the Club Handicap Pairs, whilst news came through that our twelfth competitor was AWOL, in Salisbury. As a result, Richard F quickly changed from Organiser to Substitute. The Pairs were duly drawn and produced; Rosalind and Alison, Sue F and Claire W, Richard F and Mark, Martin and Caroline, Neil and Gail and Peter and Jay, with each pair playing against all of the other 5 pairs over 6 ends.
Richard F and Mark ended up in first place, having won 4 of their 5 games and scoring 13 Points, to qualify for the Final. Second place went to the wire, and the very last end of qualifying, with Martin and Caroline scoring 12 points to pip Sue F and Claire W, who scored 11 points. The Final will, no doubt, include some added spice as one of our married couples will be playing against each other.
A big thank you to all players for making the afternoon such fun, as well as to Barry and Jackie for their support at the green, and especially to Richard F for organising the afternoon, as well as for stepping in at the last minute to play!
