Mid-Week Triples Away at Merton Park

15.8.24 – This afternoon we travelled to Merton Park Tornadoes, for our penultimate Midweek Triples match. Sue F, Anne and Peter kept pace with their opponents during the first half of the match, finding themselves  7 – 7 after nine ends. Having managed to stay no more than 4 shots behind, throughout the match, five shots were dropped on the last end, for a 12 – 20 loss. Frank, playing his first match, Richard F and Martin found themselves 12 – 0 down after five ends. Despite a valiant attempt to overcome such a large deficit they ended up losing 17 – 20. No points gained and with only one match left, against the unbeaten league leaders, whether or not we survive in Division 1 is now, unfortunately, out of our hands.
