What a Match!

11.8.25 – This evening Sue F, Caroline, Richard F and Pete (substitute for Barry) played Anne, Claire T, Martin and Neil in the semi-final of the District Mixed Fours. Six ends in and the scores were level at 5 – 5, before Pete’s rink took singles on the next three ends to edge ahead. Disaster struck for Neil’s rink on the 10^th end, when in attempting to take out the shot bowl he ended up taking out his team’s nearest bowls to drop a count of seven to leave Pete’s rink 15 – 5 ahead. The last few ends saw the gap closed until Neil’s rink took the lead 19 – 16 on end 17. A three on the final end, saw Anne, Claire T, Martin and Neil through to the final after a roller-coaster match which could easily have gone either way.
