Mid-Week Triples League v Merton Park

On Thursday afternoon Sue F, Richard F & Peter and Anne, Vera & Martin took to the green, for our first Midweek League match, back in Division 1, against Merton Park Tornadoes. Games between these teams are always notoriously close and this match was no different, as after 9 ends the scores were 8 – 8 and 10 – 7.

Martin’s was the first triple to finish, and it certainly helped that they outscored their opponents 6 – 2 in the last three ends, which included a count of 5 on the 16th end.  Peter’s triple found themselves 16 – 12 down, with two ends left, but they managed to keep things tight, by only scoring, and conceding, one shot on the final two ends.

Final Scores 21 – 14 and 13 – 17.  Overall Shots 34 – 31 and Points 6 – 2    in favour of Wimbledon Park.

Strange But True – One Wimbledon Park triple failed to score any shots when bowling towards the pavilion.
