21.8.23 - Today we had players in two District Singles Semi-Finals, Richard F played Belmont in the Men’s Singles, where he encountered Belmont in fine form, going down 9 - 21. Martin played South London in the Over - 60’s Singles, missing out on a place in the finals by the narrowest of margins, going down 20 - 21.

19.8.23 - Over at Belmont, Caroline, Mark, Dez, Sue F, Christine P and Sue R took part in the Pro-Am day. All players played two games, had a wonderful time, were well fed and well looked after.

19.8.23 - This morning’s weekly taster session saw 8 visitors take to the green along with 12 club members. At the end of the session we welcomed an incredible 5 new members to Wimbledon Park BC!

18.8.23 - This evening, Sara, Barry and Neil were over at Belmont to play Southey in the Semi-final of the District Mixed Triples. In a close first half, the scores were level at 8 - 8 after 11 ends, before Southey won almost all of the remaining ends to advance to the final with a 16 - 9 win.

Two close matches took place with Bob, Richard F and Martin just heading their opponents until the 15th end where Merton caught the edge of a short bowl to flick the Jack for a count of 5. Four close matches with Neil just winning the singles 21 - 19 and Richard F and Martin winning the Pairs 17 - 12. 13.8.23 - This afternoon we had the annual match between the Ladies and the Men, playing for The Memorial Cup. Short 6 end matches were played, firstly as 3 rinks, then 4 triples and ending with 6 pairs. Before each game the teams were drawn and then the games were played with 1 point for a win and 1/2 for a draw.
