Semi-Final of the District Men’s Pairs

5.9.23 – This evening, Pete and Martin were up at South London to play the District Men’s Pairs Semi-final against Wandilea, and what a Semi-final it was! With lots of great drawing, and many conversion shots, Wimbledon Park found themselves 5 – 10 down, and 4 down on the green, before Martin trailed the Jack for a count of 4 to finish end 10 at 9 – 10. Four ends later and we had pulled ahead to lead 15 – 10 after 14 ends, only for Wandilea to once again come back with counts of 2, 4 and 3 to lead 19 – 15 with one end to play. After some great drawing from Pete and a shot from Martin to rest out Wandilea’s nearest bowl, WPBC held 4 shots with the skips each having two bowls to play. The Wandilea skip then played into the head and sat for shot, which is how the game ended. A wonderful Semi-final which finished with Wandilea advancing to the final with a 20 – 15 win.
