Following close exchanges, the scores were level at 6 - 6 after 10 ends, before a run of seven ends without reply saw Barry and Neil edge ahead. The first of this week's Surrey Top 4 games took place at Heathfield this evening. Unfortunately for Luke, Derek, Vernon and Martin, their opponents were very much in-form and the game was conceded after 16 ends with Heathfield 20 - 3 ahead.

This morning Jonathan made his debut in the Surrey Under-25 Home Counties' League, playing 3 away to Buckinghamshire. After a strong start which saw his rink open up a 10 shot lead, Bucks dug in and pegged the lead back eventually winning by 2 shots. The other Surrey rinks were successful with the match going to Surrey 8 - 2 (63 shots to 50)

This morning's taster session saw 12 people on the green, including two of our visitors who had enjoyed their first session and returned today for a second one. Thank you to all club members who attended and helped out.

Barry got off to a great start this evening at home in the Surrey Secretaries Competition. With his Heathfield opponent struggling to find the green, Barry took a commanding lead; the game being conceded to him with the score standing at 20 - 1.

This afternoon's first mid-week triples fixture was unfortunately postponed due to the sustained rainfall. Friday at 6pm sees Barry begin his Surrey Secretary's campaign playing at home - all support welcome.

The club's first outing in the Men's National Double Rink competition took us to Wandilea, the 2012 National semi-finalists. There was certainly no disgrace in the way that we played against strong opposition. Luke, Vernon, Barry and Martin lost 13 - 22, whilst Ralph, Pete, Jonathan and Neil lost 19 - 22. Match result 32 - 44.
