A Topsy-Turvy Day in the National Competitions

14.6.19 – This morning Rachel and Neil played Warlingham Park/Faversham down at Egham BC in the quarter-final of the Surrey/ Berkshire/Sussex group of the National Family Pairs. Unfortunately the game did not go to plan as their opponents were much tidier throughout and everything that Rachel and Neil tried to do, was out-done. Hands were shaken after 17 ends with the scores at 4 – 24.

In the afternoon Pete and Neil went to Temple BC for the next round of the National Over-55 Men’s Pairs. In a complete reversal of the morning’s game everything that Pete and Neil did came off, with their opponents finding the going tough from beginning to end. This time hands were shaken after 12 of the 18 ends had been played with Pete and Neil going through to the Surrey quarter-final with a 23 – 2 win.
