A Winning Start to the Weekend League

The weekend league got underway this afternoon with a very close game against Belmont. Luke, Sabrina, Vernon and Jonathan were matched closely by their opponents for much of the game before pulling away to an 18 – 12 win. Alf, Anne, Ossie and Neil found the going tough, despite Belmont being a player short on their rink, eventually losing 14 – 19. Helen, Mary, Pete and Martin had a tight tussle throughout the afternoon, with Martin’s last bowl securing 2nd bowl to tie the game at 15- 15, thus giving Wimbledon Park a 7 league points to 3 victory by the narrowest of margins, 47 shots to 46.
