Close Game Against the 2015 League Champions

May 8th – Wimbledon Park BC started the 2016 season by taking on the 2015 league champions, Streatham Park. WPBC started strongly and at 12 ends Sabrina, Rosalind, Vernon and Barry led 11 – 4, Ossie, Mary, Pete and Martin led 17 – 6 whilst Helen, Ange, Jonathan and Neil were 7 – 13 down. The second half went in favour of Streatham Park, who, having been behind for 20 ends, picked up a two to beat Barry’s rink 18 – 17, Martin’s rink held on for a narrow 22 – 18 win, with Neil’s rink going down 12 – 22. Match result 2 – 8 (51 shots to 58).
