Club Finals – Day 1

Sep 2nd – What a great day, both with the weather, the bowling and the support. The first session saw Claire beat Maggie 21 – 17 in a close tussle in the Ladies’ Handicap, whilst Pete settled the family battle by beating son Luke 21 – 10 in the club Handicap. The second session saw the Ladies’ 2 woods postponed as Ange was unwell and not able to play Sabrina, whilst in the club 2 woods Pete beat Barry 14 – 13 after an extra end, after the match was level at 21 ends. The Handicap Pairs saw Rosalind and Neil hang on to just beat the fast finishing Luke and Barry 20 – 14. The round-robin part of the Robert Faulds Competition saw some great bowls. George won his group with Anne as the Runner-up whilst the other group saw Claire as the winner and Rosalind as the Runner-up. In the 10 end semi-finals George beat Rosalind 11 – 6 and Claire beat Anne 13 – 9. The last final saw Neil beat Barry 40 – 24 in the 3 wood ‘yardstick’ competition.
