Double Triumph in Today’s Singles’ Matches

May 26th – This afternoon Barry hosted Heathfield in the first round of the Surrey Secretaries’ competition. Settling quickly and finding the length, Barry edged ahead to lead 6 – 3 after 7 ends. Continuing to draw well Barry closed out the game after 17 ends winning 21 – 7.

In the evening Neil visited South London for the opening round of the National Champion of Champions competition. A strong start saw him open up a 12 – 4 lead, only to see his opponent close the gap and level at 12 – 12. Further close exchanges saw the scores level at 20 – 20 after 24 ends before Neil took the single required to win the game 21 – 20.
