Down to the Wire in the District Fours

August 4th – this evening Barry, Derek, Neil and Jonathan hosted Heathfield in the quarter-final of the District Fours. In a close encounter Wimbledon Park were playing catch up for much of the game and with two ends to play they were four adrift. A count of three on the 20th end, gave WPBC every chance playing the final end. During the final end the side holding shot bowl changed a number of times and with the final bowl from Heathfield coming to rest it was too close to say which side had won. After a very tight measure it was agreed that the final end had indeed been tied, leaving Heathfield with the semi-final place after their 14 – 13 win.
