Further Success in the League

July 30th – this afternoon we welcomed South London to Wimbledon Park for our latest league fixture. Matt, Claire, (playing in her first league game) Sabrina and Barry started well and were 8 – 3 up after 6 ends, 7 ends later and South London led 17 – 8. Not to be outdone WPBC rallied, picking up 8 shots in the next 3 ends to trail 16 – 19, unfortunately South London won 4 of the final 5 ends to take the game 25 – 17. Cherry, Ange, Jonathan and Neil won 10 of the first 11 ends to lead 18 – 2, going on to win 24 – 10. Mary, Hector, Pete and Martin led for the first two ends before South London took control and it wasn’t until the 15th end that WPBC levelled at 11 – 11. Winning 5 of the final 6 ends saw Wimbledon Park home 19 – 13. Match result 8 – 2 (60 shots to 48). Thanks to Betty for her support at the game.
