Ladies v Men for the Memorial Cup

August 7th – this afternoon, with the sun beating down on all involved at Wimbledon Park, the Ladies played the Men for the Memorial Cup. Alison, Mary and Helen started well to lead Ossie, Vernon and Neil 5 – 4 after 6 ends. 6 ends later and the Men had the advantage leading 16 – 7. The final 6 ends saw the Ladies finish strongly with the final result Ladies 15 – Men 18. Anne, Betty and Sabrina opened well to take the first two ends against George, Pete and Barry, but at half way the Men led 11 – 5. The second half saw further pressure from the Men and they went on to win 22 – 8. Thank you to everyone for making it such a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
