Mixed Fortunes This Morning

This morning’s taster session saw 11 people on the green including 7 visitors. As a result of the session we had an incredible 4 new members join the club as well as Sue and Karen who have re-joined. We welcome Berit, Amit, Khusi and George and look forward to getting to know you as you enjoy bowling at Wimbledon Park.

Down in Guildford, Jonathan played his Surrey Under-25 Singles. In a close fought game, he came to the last end 20 – 19 ahead. Drawing two bowls within a foot of the jack, all looked good, especially as he had split his opponents two back bowls with his own third bowl. His opponent however saved the best until last, playing into the shot bowls and taking the jack into the ditch. Jonathan had about 5 feet to draw the shot and win the game but unfortunately saw his last bowl head into the ditch to lose 20 – 21.
