Mixed Results in the Surrey Men’s Triples

June 14th – this evening both our Men’s Triples were at home, playing for a place in the last four in Area 1. Pete, Vernon and Martin had a tight, low scoring game against Dulwich Constitutional but found themselves 6 – 12 down with two ends to play. A four on the penultimate end brought them to within two shots and on the final end they held three shots with one bowl left to play. Unfortunately for WPBC the Dulwich skip just managed to catch a short bowl which he knocked in for shot, leaving WPBC the losers by 10 – 13. Derek, Barry and Neil played Shirley Park and despite both teams each winning 9 ends, it was WPBC who managed to advance to the Area Final winning 19 – 14.
