Nearly, but not quite, in the League

July 31st – this afternoon we welcomed Bolingbroke to the green for the latest league fixture. Hector, Betty, Pete and Martin had a tight game with the lead changing hands 5 times, before Bolingbroke picked up a 3 on the final end to leave WPBC 19 – 21 down. Ange, Helen, Sabrina and Barry found the going tough and finished 10 – 29. Anne, Rosalind, Ossie and Neil started well and were 14 – 2 at 7 ends, 7 ends later and their opponents were 20 – 14 ahead. After 20 ends the scores were locked at 21 – 21 before Bolingbroke took a final single to win 22 – 21. Match result 0 – 10 (50 shots to 72).
