Not to be in the District Mixed Fours

Aug 1st – This evening George, Claire, Sabrina and Neil played away at Heathfield in the new District Mixed Fours competition, in memory of the late Mick Wheeler. Winning two of the first three ends gave Wimbledon Park some hope, but after 10 ends they trailed 3 – 16. Picking up counts of 2, then 3 and then holding 5, which was reduced to a single by the Heathfield skip’s final bowl, was encouraging but unfortunately for WPBC that was as close as it got, Final result a win for Heathfield 24 – 11.
