Not One, But Two District 1/4 – Finals

On Tuesday evening there were two District matches on the green. First to finish were Pete, Martin and Neil in the Men’s Triples ¼ final against Belmont. A close first half saw the visitors 9 – 7 ahead after 9 ends and still only one shot between the teams after 15 ends, with WPBC having the lead at 14 – 13. The remaining ends went to Wimbledon Park, and with it a place in the semi-final following their 18 – 13 win. The second ¼ – final was the Mixed Fours, as Sue F, Caroline, Mark and Dave took on South London. South London took control from the start and lead 11 – 1 after 7 ends. Two counts of four in the next four ends saw WPBC back in the game after 11 ends at 10 – 15. Unfortunately for Wimbledon Park, that was as close as it got and it was South London who advanced to the semi-final with a 23 – 11 win.
