Result From Our 3rd Weekend League Match

22.6.19 – This afternoon we welcomed league newcomers Magdalen Park to the green for our 3rd league match of the year. Playing against 3 players Claire, Ralph, Richard and Neil got off to the worst possible start dropping a 6, 7 and 3 in the first three ends. Despite battling hard throughout things went from bad to worse and dropping an 8 on the final end saw Wimbledon Park limp off with an 11 – 38 score line, adjusted to 11 – 28 after 25% of Magdalen Park’s points were deducted. Anne, Johnny, Ossie and Martin fared better despite being 1 – 12 after 6 ends. Two scores of 5 on the 11th and 12th ends saw WPBC level at 14 – 14 and a strong final end saw Martin’s rink pick up a three to win 24 – 21. George, Rosalind, Sabrina and Pete had a close game throughout. Despite only managing to win 8 of the 21 ends, keeping their opponents to singles on 11 of their 13 winning ends was enough to see WPBC win 18 – 15. Match result 4 – 6 (53 shots to 64).
