Surrey Fours – Round 1

May 23rd – This evening Barry, Pete, Martin and Neil travelled to Bolingbroke for the start of the Surrey Fours competition. After getting off to a slow start which saw them 0 – 8 after four ends, they closed the gap, and continued to do so each time that Bolingbroke opened it up. As the last end approached the scores were 14 -15 with the momentum in Wimbledon Park’s favour, a terrific bowl from the Bolingbroke three was the difference and it was Bolingbroke who advanced to Round 2 with a 16 – 14 win.
