Surrey Men’s Pairs

On Wednesday evening Barry and Neil hosted Temple in the Surrey Pairs. A strong start saw their opponents lead 5 – 0 after just two ends and despite WPBC holding 6 on end four with just one bowl to come, it had the feeling of being one of those nights when the Temple skip drew in for shot. Digging in and drawing well, Barry and Neil closed the gap and after end 11 took the lead 11 – 9. With two ends to play Temple led 15 – 12 but a 1 and a 2 saw WPBC draw level, to force an extra end. A single was enough to see WPBC through to the next round by the narrowest of margins 16 – 15.
