The 2023 Memorial Cup

13.8.23 – This afternoon we had the annual match between the Ladies and the Men, playing for The Memorial Cup. Short 6 end matches were played, firstly as 3 rinks, then 4 triples and ending with 6 pairs. Before each game the teams were drawn and then the games were played with 1 point for a win and 1/2 for a draw.

At the end of the first set of 3 rinks games, the Ladies had taken the lead 2 – 1. The Triples followed and with the Men winning 2, drawing 1 and the Ladies winning the other, the scores were level at 3.5 – 3.5. Further close games followed in the Pairs, with the Ladies winning 2, drawing 1 and the Men taking the final 3 to retain The Memorial Cip with a 7 – 6 win. A great afternoon, with more than twice the number of players playing compared to 2022.
