Wet, wet, wet!

22.9.18 – After this morning’s taster session and this afternoon’s bowls’ party were both rained off, we travelled to Bolingbroke for the penultimate league match of 2018. First to finish, after the shortened 16 end match format had been agreed, were Luke, Maggie, Vernon and Pete. In a low scoring game it finished 10 – 12 which after adjustment as Bolingbroke unfortunately had to play with a player short left Wimbledon Park the winners 10 – 9. Anne, Ange, Sabrina and Barry were second to finish. After close exchanges early on, which left WPBC leading 6 – 5 after 5 ends, the pressure mounted with Wimbledon Park going on to win 21 – 8. Last off were Claire, George, Ossie and Neil, with all players drawing well throughout they managed to win 38 – 4. Match result 10 – 0 (69 shots to 21).
