What a Great Start to the Bank Holiday Weekend!

This morning Wimbledon Park took on the 2014 Champions, Belmont, in the semi-final of the District Top 10 Competition. With a place in the final at stake, all games were close. Neil was the first to finish in the Singles posting a 21 – 16 win away at Belmont. Back at Wimbledon Park, Luke and Jonathan were never behind, opening up a 13 – 6 lead after 12 ends. 7 of the last 9 ends went to Belmont, who squeezed to a 21 – 17 win by picking up four shots on the final end.  In the Triples, Cherry, Vernon and Barry led 14 – 12 after 15 ends; picking up 8 shots in the final three ends brought them to a 22 – 12 win. Back at Belmont the fours saw George, Sabrina, Pete and Martin win 12 ends to 9 to see them to a  21 – 14 victory. Match result – a win by 81 shots to 63 and a place in the final for the fourth year running!
