This morning saw Wimbledon Park take on South London in the final of the Wimbledon and District ‘Top 10’ Competition. Having finished as Runners-Up in the competition in the previous three years, WPBC were looking to go one better and win the event. Neil was first to finish in the Singles and after a close game, which went to 26 ends, managed to win 21 – 17. Luke and Jonathan were on the wrong end of some consistent draw bowling in the Pairs winning only 4 ends and going down 8 – 41. In the Triples, Derek, Sabrina and Barry battled well but narowly lost out 12 – 15. In the Fours, Gay, Anne, Pete and Martin found themselves 8 – 23 down after 11 ends but transformed the game in the second half just losing out 23 – 26. So, for the fourth consecutive year, WPBC finished as Runners-Up following the 64 – 99 loss. Thank you to all the players and to George and Helen for their support.

This afternoon, bathed in sunshine, the final event of 2015 took place with the end of season Round Robin Competition. After the group stages Barry was the winner of Group A with Brian Runner-Up and Neil was the winner of Group B with George Runner-Up. The semi-final saw Barry beat George and Neil beat Brian. In the final, Neil edged Barry 8 – 2 to win the Challoner Cup. Congratulations to all the players who made the day go so well, along with Alison and Helen for their support and Ange and Sabrina who provided the refreshments!
