What a Wonderful Wednesday!

The hottest day of the year and two significant events took place in the Wimbledon Park 2015 season. Firstly this afternoon we hosted Riversdale Primary School for a taster session as requested by the Wimbledon Foundation who had provided us with a grant to support the schools’ work. A huge thank you to Anne, Gay, Angela (who cancelled a number of work commitments to be available for the session) and to Barry for coordinating the event. It was wonderful to hear that the children had a good time and that the representative from the Wimbledon Foundation reported so positively about the work on the green. Wonderful – thank you!

This evening the day continued positively as Jonathan played in the quarter-final of the Surrey Unbadged Singles over at Purley Bury. Playing Southwark Park on a very quick green, Jonathan outbowled his opponent to book his semi-final place with a 21 – 7 victory. A massive thank you to Luke for taking Jonathan to Purley Bury and to Barry for his support – the less said about Neil trying to walk to the wrong bowls green the better!
