A Busy Sunday!

On Sunday morning Neil was at home to Streatham Park in the National Champion of Champions competition. After a number of close ends, Neil edged ahead, going on to win 21 – 14. In the afternoon we had our first league match of 2026 as West Wimbledon came to the green. Mark, Rosalind, Claire T and Martin had a close game up until end 5, where the scores were level at 6 – 6, before winning the next four ends to lead 16 – 8, going on to win 23 – 15. Caroline, Bob, Vera and Barry found their opposition in fine form and were 2 – 15 down after 8 ends. The final 10 ends were shared five each, but it was West Wimbledon who took the points 28 – 12. Jay, Gail, Anne and Neil also found the opposition tough going and were 2 – 9 down after 7 ends. A slight rally in the second half saw the gap close to 8 – 12, but again West Wimbledon went on to claim the points with a 16 – 9 win. Match result 2 – 8 (44 shots to 59).
