Mid-Week League Match v South London

On Thursday afternoon we had our next Mid-Week Triples match as we welcomed South London to the green. Sue F, Pete and Martin were involved in a tight game all afternoon. Leading 7 – 3 after 7 ends, South London rallied and 7 ends later led 13 – 9. A 6 to WPBC on the 15th end saw us retake the lead, but the scores were still tied after 17 ends, leading to a one end shoot out. Unfortunately for us it was South London who won the final end to win the game 20 – 17. Mark, Anne and Neil were also involved in close exchanges early on and their scores were level at 6 – 6 after 6 ends. A couple of large scores to WPBC over the next few ends helped them to pull away and the final score gave them a win 26 – 10. Match result 6 – 2 (43 shots to 30). Thanks to the six reserves that we had for the game and to Elaine, Frank, Jay, Johnny and Paul who came down for a practice match, another tight game, with just one shot separating the teams.
