District Mixed Fours Semi-Final v South London

On Tuesday evening up at Heathfield Anne, Vera, Pete and Neil played the Semi-Final of the District Mixed Fours against South London. In a close game, Wimbledon Park trailed 8 – 9 after 8 ends, before winning the next five ends to lead 17 – 9. Not to be outdone, South London chipped away at the lead and with two ends to play the gap was down to four shots at 17 – 13. With WPBC holding on the 17th end, the South London fired with his last bowl and unfortunately took out his team’s nearest bowl leaving Wimbledon Park a count of 6 and a place in the club’s 6th District Final with a 23 – 13 win.
