Surrey win against Leicestershire

July 11th - This afternoon Neil played for Surrey in their match against Leicestershire. Leading on his rink, Neil contributed well as the Surrey rink went on to win 32 - 11 with the game ceasing after 18 ends as the rain turned heavier. Match result Surrey beat Leicestershire 122 - 116. More

Surrey Area 1 v Area 2 in the first Walter Cross Match

July 9th - This morning at South London BC Martin and Neil represented Area 1 as they took on Area 2 in the opening Walter Cross match of the year. Martin's rink posted a 16 - 16 draw, whilst Neil's rink went down 17 - 25. Area 2 won the game with 4 winning rinks, one drawn rink and one loss. More

First League Away Win

July 8th - This afternoon Wimbledon Park visited Colliers Wood for the second away league match of the season. Anne, Rosalind, Pete and Martin got off to a flying start with 6 shots on the first end. They developed this in to a 17 - 2 lead after 8 ends and ended up winning 30 - 10. Sabrina, Betty, Vernon and Barry found the end rink  to be a challenge. ... More

July 7th - This evening George hosted Wandilea in the Mixed Singles. Starting strongly, George led from the off, extending his lead to 18 - 11 after 15 ends, before his opponent closed the gap to 18 - 14. Two ends later and it was all over as George had won 21 - 14. Marathon Match in the District Ladies’ Singles

July 4th - This afternoon Anne visited Wandilea for the opening round of the District Ladies' Singles. Starting strongly, Anne took the lead and kept it until heading towards the 20th end when her opponent switched up a gear. The final ends went to Wandilea who edged to a 21 - 15 win after 24 ends and 2 and 1/4 hours of play. More

Wimbledon and District Mixed Triples

July 4th - This evening Sabrina, Barry and Neil welcomed Mitcham in the opening match of the Wimbledon and District Mixed Triples competition. More experienced players were drawn to play with less experienced players in a round-robin format of 6 end games, with each player having 2 bowls. July 2nd - This morning Derek, Vernon and Pete took on Streatham Park in the District Men's Triples. In a close fought game Wimbledon Park battled to the very end. Needing four shots on the last end to tie the game, WPBC fell agonisingly short picking up three shots to lose 14 - 15. More
