26.8.21 Oh So Close!

This evening, Barry and Neil were at Belmont to play Heathfield in the Semi-Final of the District Men’s Pairs. Heathfield got off to a flier, leaving WPBC 0 – 7 after 5 ends. At 12 ends, the gap was still there at 5 – 14. Having clawed back to 10 – 15, the 17th end was a turning point as Wimbledon Park picked up 6 shots to take the lead for the first time at 16 – 15. With one end to go the score was 18 – 18, but it was Heathfield who took the last end to book their well-deserved place in the Final.
