5th Merton Primary Schools’ Bowls Tournament

18.6.18 – Today Merton BC hosted the 5th Annual Merton Primary Schools’ Bowls Tournament. Four schools took part after they had received coaching from one of the Merton bowls clubs. After the round robin format had been completed Singlegate Primary School, supported by Merton Park BC finished with 220 points, Benedict Primary School, supported by Mitcham BC had 246 points, Garfield Primary School, supported by Wimbledon Park BC finished with 300 points and were the only school to win on both rinks in each of their three games. The winners however with 314 points were Joseph Hood Primary School supported by the hosts Merton BC.

A huge thank you to Merton BC for hosting the event, to the Mayor of Merton for presenting the awards, to representatives of both the Surrey Ladies’ and Men’s Presidential Teams and to Alison, Anne, Barry, Claire, Maggie and Vicki for giving up their time to enable the children to have such a wonderfully happy and successful day.
