A Close Encounter of the Mixed Fours Kind

20.6.18 – This evening Claire, George, Sabrina and Neil took on Wandilea in the first round of the Mick Wheeler Cup, the Wimbledon and District Mixed Fours competition. In what proved to be a very close match the ends were limited to scores of 1 and 2, with the exception of a single count of 3 to Wimbledon Park. The game was levelled no fewer than 6 times and at no time was the lead greater than 3 shots. Going in to the final end at 15 – 15, WPBC held match lie but with the final delivery the Wandilea skip no ended. The replayed end was again tight and despite Neil striking the jack with his final bowl the jack rebounded to a Wandilea bowl giving our opponents the victory by 16 shots to 15.
