A Busy Time Away at Belmont

On Wednesday afternoon we were away at Belmont in the Mid-Week Triples league. Pete, Dave and Martin, despite starting well, found themselves 4 – 7 down after 6 ends, a big push in the middle section saw them turn the tables to lead 16 – 8 after 11 ends. Keeping everything tight over the last few ends was enough to secure the win 20 – 14. Anne, Vera and Neil were up against it from the off with Belmont taking control to lead 12 – 4 after 9 ends. In the second half, the pressure continued and Belmont took the victory 24 – 8. Match result 2 – 6 (28 shots to 38). In the evening, Peter, Richard S, Neil and Martin stayed on at Belmont for the District Men’s Fours. Picking up a count of 6 on the first end, was a great way to start and by the half way point WPBC led 14 – 4. The remaining ends saw Wimbledon Park continue to outdraw their opponents and hands were shaken after 14 ends with another 1/4 – final spot booked, following the 19 – 6 win.
