A match of two halves!

August 14th – this afternoon’s league match saw Wimbledon Park welcome last year’s league champions, Streatham Park, to the green. Anne, Claire, Vernon and Barry had a real tussle and after 12 ends the score was locked at 13 – 13. The second half however belonged to Wimbledon Park who went on to win 25 – 17. Hector, Betty, Luke and Jonathan found the going tough early on and trailed 4 – 14 after 11 ends. Once more the second half belonged to WPBC who took 5 shots in the last 4 ends to tie 17 – 17. Alison, Helen, Ossie and Pete started well and were 9 – 3 ahead after 7 ends. This time the remaining ends went in favour of Streatham Park who won the game 26 – 12. Match result 3 – 7 (54 shots to 60).
