A Strong Showing in the Latest League Fixture

19.8.18 – This afternoon we welcomed Wandilea to the green for our latest league fixture. With a full team, we had the advantage as our opponents had 10 players available. Luke, Anne, Pete and Martin started strongly to lead 10 – 1 after 8 ends. At 14 ends the gap had narrowed with the score at 15 – 7, but the final third went to WPBC who finished at 29 – 9 (adjusted to 29 – 6 after the 25% reduction). Steve, Richard (making his league debut), Vernon and Barry got off to a tremendous start to lead 15 – 2 after 12 ends. In a complete change of fortunes, Wandilea took the second half to finish the game one shot behind at 16 – 17. (After adjustment WPBC won 17 – 12). Claire, John B (making his 2018 league debut), Ossie and Neil had close exchanges early on, taking the lead for the first time at 9 – 7 after 11 ends. The second half was a different story as Wimbledon Park went on to win 24 – 11. Match result 10 – 0 (70 shots to 29).
