A Strong Start in the Mid-Week Triples League

On a rather soggy afternoon, the Mid-Week Triples League got underway as we welcomed Heathfield to the green. Barry, Richard F and Martin won 8 of the first 14 ends, but couldn’t quite pull away with the scores tied at 12-12. The final 4 ends however were a different matter, as Wimbledon Park picked up 15 shots without reply, going on to win 27-12. Anne, Vernon and Neil started strongly, thanks in no small part to Anne’s excellent leading, and found themselves 23-4 up after 9 ends. Heathfield rallied over the second half, but Wimbledon Park held on to win 28 -14. Match result 8-0 (55 shots to 26).
