Aggregate Shield Semi-final

September 14th – this evening the Aggregate Shield semi-final was played with the draw seeing Martin (sub for Pete) and Rosalind playing Neil and Jonathan. The format was 12 ends of four wood pairs with each player changing positions after 6 ends. After some close ends the scores were Martin/Rosalind 5 – 3 Neil/Jonathan at the change over point of 6 ends. The first two ends of the second half also went to Rosalind/Martin leaving them 7 – 3 ahead with four ends to play. Ends 9 and 10 went to Jonathan/Neil who picked up a 1 and a 7 to lead 11 – 7 with two ends to play. A single to Rosalind and Martin followed by a 3 left the scores level at 11 – 11 after 12 ends, forcing an extra end. The extra end was close but a count of two to Rosalind and Martin left them the winners. With Pete returning next week, the final will see Rosalind play Pete over 12 ends of singles.
