… and That’s Why You Have Four Bowls in Singles!

This morning Neil played the quarter-final of the District Men’s Singles against Wandilea. Playing at home Neil got off to a slow start and was 2 – 7 down, before beginning to make an impact. Although drawing well Neil wasn’t scoring regularly as his opponent time and again played a telling last bow to save, draw shot or take out Neil’s shot bowl. Not to be outdone Neil took the lead at 19 – 18, but then dropped two to go in to what proved to be the last end at 19 – 20. Again drawing well, Neil held two shots for game, with one bowl left for each bowler, first to strike was the Wandilea bowler who drew a perfect bowl to within a few inches for shot. Unfortunately for Neil his last bowl did not get the shot and the game was over at 19 – 21.
