Club rallies to clear green after flood

June 25th – this morning, following Wednesday’s torrential rain which led to the bowls green being completely under water, 15 of the club members rallied to the SOS call and turned out to clear the green. With the Wimbledon Park lake having over-flowed and washed soil, stones and bark chippings on to the green, it took a huge effort from club members to sweep bag after bag loads of waste from the green. Almost three hours after starting, the green resembled a bowls green again – a tremendous effort from the club members and another example of why we are so proud of Wimbledon Park Bowls Club… thank you!
