District Men’s Pairs, Oh So Close!

June 27th – this evening, yet another damp one, Pete and Martin took on Mitcham in the 1st round of the Wimbledon and District Men’s Pairs. In what turned out to be a tight game, Mitcham drew well and kept their noses in front early on. Picking up a 4, and altering the jack length, WPBC opened up a gap of 5 shots as they came to the last end, only to see Mitcham attack the head to play out a WPBC bowl and take 5 to force the game to an extra end. Fortunately for the home pair the last end only gave Mitcham 4 shots, leaving Pete and Martin the winners 17 – 16.
